Corner Tandoori

I've lived less than a block from Corner Tandoori for over 2 years and never paid it any attention. From the outside, it's hard to tell that it's even a restaurant, it doesn't really look like anything so it's easy to not really notice. Inside it's not a lot better, the bare bones dining area has the ambiance of a high school cafeteria but a late night search for takeout and some good reviews online lead me to make an order. Despite its hole-in-the-wall appearance, Corner Tandoori makes some of the best Indian food I've ever had! Most of the dishes come with either a serving of rice or a huge naan and are largely under $10, making it one of the cheaper Indian places in the city. The portions are very generous too; the first order we made there consisted of 3 main dishes (lamb vindaloo, daal and paneer), and an extra order of rice and an extra order of naan. Those extra portions were definitely not necessary and it was enough food for two people to have two big meals. It took me a long time to give this place a try but I'm glad I did, it's always nice finding "hidden treasures" that are sometimes just a few steps down the street.
